…A
Story So True,
Brian Tincher
We all remember how we met our spouse or
girlfriend and no matter how we met them we are glad we did. For me, I can’t remember much more than those
beautiful green eyes. She was my love at
first sight! I went to the doctor for a
cure and walked out lovesick. While I
was there I acted just like a typical guy.
I spent a half hour acting like a fool and trying to figure out how to
get her phone number. I was funny, I was
sweet, I was tough, I was clean, and I am certain I smelled good. Yet, things just did not work out for me when
the time came for me to check out and go home. She was gone and I could not stale enough to
wait for her to return to the office area.
I had to leave without saying goodbye or something catchy like that.
Two days later I was still thinking
about her and our rendezvous with destiny.
However, I couldn’t help feel like she was waaaaaaayyyyyy out of my
league. After all, I was divorced with
two young children and I lived in the next county over. I didn’t have a whole lot going for me or so
I thought. On that day, the phone rang
and I remember standing in the hallway with phone in hand talking to “her” and
thinking she was calling to check on her favorite patient. I was shot down when she answered “yes” to my
question of does her office call all their patients to check on them. I was very disappointed and was about to give
up when she asked me if I needed to come back in for another checkup? I immediately said YES and began plotting my
future attack on the woman of my dreams.
